Breakdown the Factors of the CTQ (Y of project)

To gain the right output we should to control the factors that influence the process or input. First, we must breakdown the factors that related with it. These factors often called the potential X (Potential factors). to breakdown the potential X, we can use brainstorming method to draw up all possibilities. How to conduct this method could be learned in Tools Categories. Then, we deploy the relationship each potential X by its categories in order to make easy to control and map the factors. Logic Tree or Fishbone Diagram is appropriate tools to deploy and categorize the factors.

When we have drawn the all possibilities of potential factors that are influence the project Y, not suggested to control all of them because not all of them are really give the big impact of the output/project Y (remember : Pareto Concept!). In other words, too many time, cost, money spent to control of them. Just 20% of them will give impact 80% of the overall output of project Y. Therefore, we must try to select and decide what factors that are really give the big impact of output project Y. This step is how selecting possible X’s from the potential X’s that have been drawn before by Logic Tree and Fishbone Diagram. Then, possible X will be verified and analyzed deeply to know whether it’s really giving the impact or not. Since, we could find the vital few / vital factor of the project Y.
